Burdell Ambulance Station

The new Ambulance Station and Regional Office at 8 Galax Entrance in Burdell has been completed to address the current and future healthcare needs of the surrounding Townsville area. This facility comprises a 10-bay vehicle depot and a two-story building.

The ground floor houses the ambulance station, while the upper level accommodates a new Northern Regional Office. The building’s design incorporates a mix of materials and features extensive external sun shading blades to enhance its aesthetic appeal. A shared entrance serves both the station and the office, while ample meeting and conference spaces are strategically located on both floors to optimize space utilization and accommodate potential future expansion.

The interior features extensive glazing to improve natural light and create a more open and inviting atmosphere within the office spaces, despite the operational requirements for separation between different functions. This state-of-the-art facility will not only provide 24/7 emergency response services but also support local healthcare professionals through its dedicated education unit.
