Ramsay Surgical Centre Charlestown

The Charlestown Day Surgery Hospital marks Ramsay Health Care’s expansion in NSW, delivering a new facility designed to accommodate day procedures and short-stay admissions of less than 24 hours. The hospital enhances access to specialist surgical services for patients across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions.

Occupying the top floor of a purpose-built medical building, the 2,200m² Charlestown Day Surgery features three operating theatres (with capacity for a fourth), three MOHS treatment rooms, 12 inpatient beds, and advanced, state-of-the-art equipment. The hospital provides a wide range of specialist services, including endoscopy, oral, optical and maxillofacial surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, ENT, gynaecology, and MOHS skin cancer surgery.

The facility has been purposefully designed to meet the increasing demand for local surgical care while easing pressure on larger hospitals in the region. It also includes flexibility for future growth, with the potential to expand and incorporate Ramsay Health Plus allied health services.
