Capricorn Coast Hospital & Health Service – Renal Expansion
Delivered within a 12-month period, the Capricorn Coast Renal Service (CCRS) is a new standalone facility at Capricorn Coast Hospital that expands the existing CQHHS Renal Services. It offers eight renal chairs and associated clinical support areas for low-risk patients, providing life-saving treatment closer to home, reducing travel times and improving overall accessibility.
In addition to the expanded renal care capacity, the purposeful design integrated

- a mezzanine that hides and separates the internal plant away from the patient care area
- critical infrastructure upgrade with an new essential energy building and plant, supporting both the renal facility and the hospital’s upgraded air conditioning system
- new road access including a covered drop off, services loading bay and parking for 10 cars
- New covered awning and covered connection to the existing hospital as well as associated site services for the new building including landscape treatment
- External and internal finishes pallet that complements the existing hospital buildings and are robust to address local climatic conditions
This project strengthens the region’s healthcare network, reinforcing the hospital’s ability to meet growing demand.
