Australian Institute of Architects AWARDS
May has been a rewarding month for PSC, bringing several achievements that we are pleased to recognise. We received commendations for three projects at the recent AIA Regional Awards.
At the Greater Brisbane Region awards, A Verdant Vow received a commendation in the Residential Architecture – Houses (Alterations and Additions) category. This project is grounded in strong sustainability principles and draws on artistic and international influences. It demonstrates how an ordinary, outdated dwelling can be thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary living environment.
At the Darling Downs and West Moreton Regional Awards, PSC was honoured with two further commendations.
Beaudesert Courthouse was recognised in the Public Architecture category. As the first new courthouse in Queensland since 2012, the project responds to an ambitious civic brief with a design that is both considered and restrained. It balances clarity and subtle playfulness to create a place of long-term public value.
Warwick Police Facility Upgrade received a commendation in the Heritage Architecture category. The project offers a respectful and carefully considered response to the site’s rich heritage context, retaining the long-standing police presence while minimising impact on its cultural significance.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all PSC team members involved in these projects, and our thanks to the clients, consultants, suppliers, and photographers who contributed to their success.
All commended projects will now progress to the Queensland Architecture Awards, to be announced on 26 June at Brisbane City Hall. We look forward to the occasion.
